Program Description:
Temporary Assistance for Families in Idaho (TAFI) is the monthly cash assistance program for low-income families in Idaho. The program goal is to provide necessary assistance to need families with children on a temporary basis and provide parents with job preparation, work opportunities, enforcement of child support, and support services to enable them to become self-sufficient, and leave the program as soon as possible. This is a time-limited cash assistance and supportive services program with an emphasis on self-reliance and personal responsibility.
General Program Requirements:
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of Idaho, either pregnant or responsible for a child under 19 years of age, a US national, citizen, legal alien, or permanent resident, have low or very low income, and be either under-employed (working for very low wages), unemployed or about to become unemployed.
