Program Description:
The Minnesota Energy Assistance program provides assistance to low-income households in meeting their home energy costs, particularly those with the lowest incomes that pay a high proportion of household income for home energy.
General Program Requirements:
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the state of Minnesota, you must need financial assistance for home energy costs and your household's annual income before taxes must not exceed $21,184 if one person lives in the household; $27,702 if two people live in the household; $34,220 if three people live in the household; $40,738 if four people live in the household; $47,256 if five people live in the household; $53,774 if six people live in the household; $54,996 if seven people live in the household; $56,219 if eight people live in the household; and $57,441 if more than eight people live in the household. For larger households, add $1,222 for each additional person in the home.
