Program Description:
The Weatherization Assistance Program is the nation's largest residential energy efficiency program. Its mission is to insulate the dwellings of low-income persons, particularly the elderly, persons with disabilities, families with children, high residential energy users, and households with a high energy burden, in order to conserve needed energy and to aid those persons least able to afford higher utility costs.
General Program Requirements:
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the State of Louisiana, you must need financial assistance for home energy costs and your household's annual income before taxes must not exceed $17,460 if one person lives in the household; $22,824 if two people live in the household; $28,200 if three people live in the household; $33,564 if four people live in the household; $38,940 if five people live in the household; $44,304 if six people live in the household; $45,312 if seven people live in the household; or $46,320 if eight people live in the household. For larger households, add $1,008 for each additional person in the home.
