> Georgia Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
Georgia Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) is the monthly cash assistance program for poor families with children under age 18. The program goal is to provide necessary assistance to needy families with children on a temporary basis and provide parents with job preparation, work opportunities, enforcement of child support, and support services to enable them to become self-sufficient, and leave the program as soon as possible. These work activities help recipients gain the experience needed to find a job and become self-sufficient.
