> Illinois KidCare (SCHIP)
Illinois' KidCare is a state program that offers health care coverage to children, pregnant women and their babies or helps in paying premiums of employer or private health insurance plans. KidCare services are available at no cost or at low cost. How much you pay depends on your family income and size.
General Program Requirements:
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of Illinois, under 19 years of age, not covered by health insurance (including Medicaid), a US national, citizen, legal alien, or permanent resident, or pregnant, and you must have an annual household income before taxes of less than $116,568 if two people live in the household; $146,496 if three people live in the household; $176,412 if four people live in the household; $206,328 if five people live in the household; $236,244 if six people live in the household; $266,160 if seven people live in the household; $296,076 if eight people live in the household; and $325,992 if more than eight people live in the household. For larger households, add $29,916 for each additional person in the home. Depending on your income level, you may have to pay a premium for coverage.
