Program Description:
DC Healthy Families covers children, adolescents under age 19 who live alone, pregnant women, and parents/guardians. DC Healthy Families is funded by the District of Columbia and Federal Government and is administered by the Department of Health, Medical Assistance Administration, Department of Human Services, Income Maintenance Administration and the Office of Maternal and Child Health.
General Program Requirements:
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the District of Columbia, under 19 years of age, not covered by health insurance (including Medicaid), a US national, citizen, legal alien, or permanent resident, and you must have an annual household income before taxes of less than $43,710 if two people live in the household; $54,930 if three people live in the household; $66,150 if four people live in the household; $77,370 if five people live in the household; $88,590 if six people live in the household; $99,810 if seven people live in the household; and $111,030 if eight people live in the household. For larger households, add $11,220 for each additional person in the home. Depending on your income level, you may have to pay a premium for coverage.
