Program Description:
The Foster Care program provides Federal financial assistance to states to assist with:
- Costs of foster care maintenance for eligible children
- Administrative costs to manage the program
- Training for staff, foster parents and private agency staff
The implementation of the program may differ by state.
General Program Requirements:
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be certified to provide 24-hour, substitute care in your home for a child who is under the supervision of a state child welfare agency and who is under age of 18 years.
