Program Description:
This program operates on a two-year cycle with fellowships in prose available one year and fellowships in poetry available the next. Fellowships in prose (fiction and creative nonfiction) or poetry are available to published creative writers of exceptional talent. Fellowships enable recipients to set aside time for writing, research, travel, and general career advancement. Grants are also available to published translators of literature for projects that involve the specific translation of prose (fiction, creative nonfiction, and drama) or poetry (including verse drama) from other languages into English.
General Program Requirements:
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a US citizen or permanent resident with current or past experience as a published writer/poet.
