> American Council of Young Political Leaders
The American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL) conducts bilateral political exchanges between U.S. and international young political leaders between the ages of 25 and 40. ACYPL??s main programs are between 10 and 14 days in length, but ACYPL also participates in international conferences, parliamentary exchanges, leadership development programs, and U.S. congressional study fellowships. ACYPL receives an annual grant from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State to conduct these political exchanges; in addition, ACYPL relies on support from foundations, corporations, program alumni, and its overseas partners.
General Program Requirements:
Nominees must be between the ages of 25 and 40 at the time of travel, be directly involved in government or politics (i.e. state legislators, city council members, mayors, school board officials, judges, commissioners, etc.), and be perceived as rising political stars with the possibility of assuming a national leadership role.
The ACYPL selects its delegates based on many factors, but one thing is essential: that they are perceived as having a bright political future. Individuals may be nominated by alumni, Members of Congress, Governors, State Party Chairs, or by one of the select organizations to which we have granted nominating rights. For more information about the nomination process, or to obtain a nomination form, please contact ACYPL Director of Outreach Libby Rosenbaum at email@example.com or 202-857-0999 x 16.
