Program Description:

The Special Education Parent Training and Information (PTI) Centers Program ensures that children with disabilities, and parents of children with disabilities:

  1. Receive training and information on their rights and protections under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
  2. Can effectively participate in planning and decision making related to early intervention, special education, and transitional services, including the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

 

General Program Requirements:

In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be the parent or primary caregiver to a child(ren) under the age of 19 years. You must also be homeless/live in a shelter, or your child(ren) must have a disability or special needs.
