Program Description:
The Special Education Parent Training and Information (PTI) Centers Program ensures that children with disabilities, and parents of children with disabilities:
- Receive training and information on their rights and protections under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
- Can effectively participate in planning and decision making related to early intervention, special education, and transitional services, including the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
General Program Requirements:
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be the parent or primary caregiver to a child(ren) under the age of 19 years. You must also be homeless/live in a shelter, or your child(ren) must have a disability or special needs.
